So long and thanks for all the fish.
It could only ever be that subject line, really.

I am sorrier than I can say to report that Guy died tonight, about an hour ago. I'm updating here because I can't think of anything else to do. Please keep Mary especially in your thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear this
While I only knew Guy virtually on CiX, I still felt I knew him, purely from following this blog.

Recently completed treatment for cancer myself, hence why so much interest, truly hoped he'd have a little more time.

So sorry to hear this: at least he went surrounded by people he loved. Remember the good times.

another vote we've lost....
So sorry to hear the news. Our thoughts are with you Mary (and of course Lucy/Alice and further offspring). He was a great friend, and a lovely person.
Sadly missed - hope he's happy in the night garden.

So long, Guy was truly an inspiration
Like others, I too was brought into this industry by Guy's measured enthusiasm. We'll miss him

Our paths crossed far less than they did all those years ago, but I shall miss the old bugger. He was a genuine one-off. We will be the poorer for his passing, but that great newsdesk of eternity will be greatly enriched.....and there will be several people up there (and more importantly down THERE) who will suddenly realise that they now need to get their stories straight.

Love to Mary and everyone

At least he was at peace - his last posting mood here: content - as he seemed to be when I saw him last week.

My sympathies to everyone in the family. I'll miss him hugely. The world is immeasurably the poorer without him.

Love to you and your mum and family
I knew Guy for over 25 years I guess. I didn't see him that often and have not seen him for a long while but we communicated briefly a few months ago and I sent him my love. We always got on (well almost always - I think we argued about mobile phones once back in the early 90's!)

Shit the journalism, he was a good man and that matters much more.

Without being trite, time and ACTIVITY are the great healers for grief. So as soon as the tears and pain allow do something, anything, that is life affirming. And that is an order you lot.

Much love and if there is ANYTHING that you need Google me.

With love
Steve Homer
